The Beatles are credited for starting the British Music Invasion of the '60s in 1964, with their single “I Want To Hold Your Hand” b/w “I Saw Her Standing There”; first released in December 1963. It wasn't until February 1964 before it caught on.

1964 through 1966, are considered the Beat Music years. By 1967 Beat Music was dying, and the artists were experimenting with new sounds; moving in different directions, musically.

Covered are the years 1964 through 1971 (the year of their last releases as The Beatles, even though they were reissues on the Apple label).

This vinyl discography is for the U.S. only.

You'll find catalog numbers for both mono and stereo issues but by the late '60s most labels had stopped issuing mono records since stereophonic record players were more common.

Formats are LP's (albums), 45's (singles), EP's (extended play 7“ 45's with 2 to 3 tracks per side), Mini Albums (7" disc that play at 33 1/3 rpm, with 3 tracks per side). These were usually distributed to jukebox vendors. Mini Albums are included in the LP category. Flexi-Discs are also included. These are recordings released on paper thing vinyl distributed as promotional items and sometimes available for sale in special made vending machines.
