 2017 - Cozzen Publications - FULL COLOR EDITION - 104 pages - 6x9 Paperback

This book includes girl bands from the '60s that played their own instruments and released records. There are female bands that have been included on compilation albums/CD's labeled as "garage bands" not included in this book. I was unable to verify that they played their own instruments.

The discographies begin in the '60s and end in the '70s, when most of the bands disbanded. Some exceptions include recordings not released until as late as the '90s.

In my research I've learned that the majority of these bands were formed to hopefully cash in on the British Invasion of the '60s band wagon. Some were fairly successful and spawned rock stars like Suzi Quatro, who was in the band The Pleasure Seekers, using the stage name of Suzi Soul.

Most of the bands were not taken seriously and considered novelty acts. This would explain why some of the recordings were crude and not well produced.

I have formatted this book to hopefully make it easier to look up the artist and their records.

At the end of this book I've included a Glossary of Terminology used by the recording industry and from the Record Collectors Guild a record condition guide.
